Oh I love that response to 'how are you?' - 'I am blessed'. What a gorgeous reminder!

Hope you've got some good friends back home who can mail you your favourite teas 😀

It was indeed- I cannot stop coming back to it, a real gift.

A friend gifted me another nugget today-

‘I am not where I want to be, but I am not where I was.’

Perspective, and holding onto the progress amongst the challenges.

I’ve forbidden my friends and family from sending anything- I’m terrified of the tax that customs add, and that it can take ages to arrive! I’m hoping I’ll have a visitor who can bring an extra suitcase 😂

Yes I did wonder about that! Here in NZ biosecurity is so strict that it’s hard to bring anything plant-based into the country. Hope the Cayman Islands have some great teas to offer 😊

I found a box of decaf earl grey today- shipped all the way from Sainsbury’s uk! It was ridiculously expensive but I’m sure I’ll go back and buy them next time 🤣

Is there anything you get shipped to you after all this time?

The only thing I get shipped is John Freida Frizz Ease hair serum... because it's about 4 x as expensive over here! My mum sends it, or when I go back to the UK I fill my suitcase with it 😂

This was a good read for a Sunday morning. Your post made me wonder whether I even remember anyone talking about self-care in the past. Especially about being intentional and putting yourself first, not to mention the different elements of it. Self-compassion is another concept that is new for many adults.

Thank you- I hope it gave you some ideas for what types of self care might be useful for you. Every time I use this with paid carers / parents I get a different response- and remember to do something different for myself!
