That's so true Jo. I don't recall the word tenderness anywhere in my clinical psychology training either, though it is one of my favourite words and I try to bring that quality to all of my interactions my clients. The world needs more tenderness. What beautiful reflections ❤

Hi Vicki

Isn’t it strange?

We both trained over 20 years ago, and although paul Gilbert did teaching on my course, CFT has grown such a lot since then, I wonder if third wave cognitive therapies have changed the training at all… my mind will clearly be chewing over this!

And thank you, as always!

The wise mind- the middle way. It has to involve tenderness and openheartedness, I think.

How to stay tenderhearted in a world that makes so many hearts harden?

Practice giving and receiving it.

I'm not sure it has changed all that much from the trainees I supervise, but yes, they do at least talk about compassion these days...

A beautiful piece Jo and I am honoured to be included within it. My 15 year old inner teen is especially chuffed that you mentioned her swearing. ;-) Tenderness is one of my favourite words. Here's to becoming the tender breeze xx

Thank you 🙏

Your 15 year old self is very welcome- tell her to keep showing up- she gives me courage for my age inner teen to do the same!

To the Tender breeze. 😀

I’m going to keep coming back to that!
